ALPINE SKIING AND SNOWBOARD

A well-known activity doesn't need any explanation! The Dolomiti Superski, which includes all the ski area of both Fiemme and Fassa Valley, certainly is your starting point for planning your ski trips.

The two ski-areas of Moena are the Ski Area Alpe Lusia and the Ski Area San Pellegrino , both only a few kilometres from the town center.

A short distance away and easily accessible, we find the Ski Center Latemar , towards Predazzo, and the well-known Giro dei 4 Passi towards Canazei.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

This sport of extreme physicality and dynamism finds its origin in the Scandinavian countries. Inspired by one of the greatest cross-country competitions, the Marcialonga ski race, starts from Moena and and is one of the most prestigious international sports competitions.

There are two circuits for cross-country skiing equipped for the practice of this sport:

Centro Fondo Alochet a few kilometres away from, on SS346 to the San Pellegrino Pass.

Passo Lavazè incredibly panoramic and sunny, it can be reached by arriving in Tesero and continuing along the valley of Stava.

SKI MOUNTAINEERING

As with all extreme sports or excursions, we consider training and accompaniment to be very important for practicing these various disciplines. Therefore we always recommend an expert and technical consultation from the mountaineering school Guide Alpine Val di Fassa where it is possible to request accompaniment or customise your excursion in safety and awareness.

Almost all of the summer trails can be practiced with mountaineering skis in winter. The weather conditions and the relative avalanche risks must always be considered. Undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable routes is the path to Malga La Rezila: a path of modest difficulty but which runs through the magical forest of Ski Area Alpe Lusia.

Starting from the Ronchi car park, proceed along the left edge of the track to the first wall. From there continue along the forest path that separates from the track on the left.

SNOWSHOES

As with all extreme sports or excursions, we consider training and accompaniment to be very important for practicing these various disciplines. Therefore we always recommend an expert and technical consultation from the mountaineering school Guide Alpine Val di Fassa where it is possible to request accompaniment or customise your excursion in safety and awareness.

This traditional method was used for convenience when walking in fresh snow was impossible, given the amount of snow. Now it has become the winter application of the summer walk. Among our tips there is undoubtedly the snowshoe hike that leads from Fango to Ciadinon, one of the most authentic huts near Moena.

As with ski mountaineering, almost all summer trails are practicable with snowshoes, considering the slope, the climatic conditions and the risk of avalanches.
